With the retirement of Pat Oronzo in 2007, Sandi Thomas became the sole proprietor of the center. "THE BRAND NEW US" has become the slogan for Johnson's since the smoke and water damage in Nov. 07 caused a 10 1/2 month renovation project. The center has a bright new look, with synthetic lanes, new approaches and remodeled bathrooms and front desk area. The same friendly, courteous staff of Sandi, Ken and Nancy are looking forward to serving the bowling community for years to come.
Sandi comes from a bowling family and is a member of the CT Hall of Fame, WNDA Hall of Fame and NDBC Hall of Fame. Her son, Ken, brother John Zikis and nephew John T. Zikis are members of the men's pro tour. Her daugher-in-law, Sandy and her sister-in-law, Theresa Zikis are both former members of the women's pro tour. Sandy serves on the CT Bowler's Assoc. board and Theresa is still active with the ladies tour in their fundraising efforts. Ken and Sandy's son, Kyle, loves to bowl and believes that this is HIS bowling alley. As you can see, there is a lot of duckpin blood flowing through the family veins.
